MEMORY UPGRADES FOR NEW IBM THINKPAD
380 SERIES
AVAILABLE FROM MGV MEMORY
IRVINE, Calif., June 3, 1997 -- Expanding its
support for the industry’s leading notebook computers, MGV Memory today announced
immediate availability of high-capacity memory upgrades for the IBM ThinkPad 380
series.
The IBM ThinkPad 380 features IBM’s "all-in-one-design"
which integrates a hard drive, floppy drive and CD-ROM drive in a single notebook
computer. The portable computer features the fast 150MHz Pentium processor, bringing
the power of a desktop PC to an affordable notebook.
MGV’s new memory incorporates advanced technologies
including 64-Mbit EDO (extended data out) DRAM and small outline dual inline memory
module (SODIMM) design. The SODIMM design features a 64-bit data path offering
significant increase in performance over other types of memory technologies.
SODIMM modules also provide greater upgrade flexibility by allowing users to install
different memory module configurations in a single notebook. In addition, memory
chips no longer have to be installed in pairs, SODIMM chips can now be added one
at a time.

advantage through quick turnaround on memory module add-ons for the latest popular
notebook computers," said Steve Recek, MGV director of product management.
"That means we can quickly cater to the needs of those users requiring large
installed memory for maximum performance of 32-bit operating environments such
as Windows 95 and Windows NT."
The ThinkPad 380 models feature 16MB of EDO RAM
expandable to 80MB. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for MGV’s memory
upgrade modules are listed below:
